In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in San Francisco; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–2:45 pm. It is closed on Wednesday. San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Francisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Dumpling kitchen is a great spot for a casual meal! Everything on the menu is fantastic! I highly recommend the general tso chicken, green onion pancakes, garlic eggplant, and fried rice. Dumpling kitchen also has chocolate filled dumplings that I highly recommend, and stand out as one of the most unique and delicious deserts in Noe valley. Everything about the food is great at Dumpling Kitchen, their only flaw is the service. Service is not rude but don’t expect helpful recommendations. The services main flaw is how rushed out of the restaurant you feel if you come on a busy night or close to closing, you will be asked by multiple staff if you will leave soon or if you need to go boxes and check as you are still eating. Despite this, dumpling kitchen is a restaurant I consistently return to for great food, and would recommend to a friend.

Loved our experience hosting our son's 1st birthday at Dumpling Kitchen Noe - it was absolute perfection from start to finish! We hosted his party on the back patio here, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire experience. If you are looking for a venue that combines incredible food with flawless execution, this is it! From our very first inquiry, Shari was an absolute dream to work with. Her professionalism and responsiveness made the planning process completely stress-free. She was incredibly accommodating, working closely with us to fit everything within our budget while completely catering to our specific vision for the day. The back patio was the perfect setting--cozy, private, and beautiful--but the real star of the show was the food. The dumplings and dishes were absolutely spectacular and completely fresh and delicious. We received non-stop compliments from our guests all afternoon about how incredible the food was. My dad, who is a connoisseur of hot and sour soup, kept saying how this was one of the best ones he's had! Thank you to the wonderful owner and staff for making our son's milestone celebration so incredibly special. We will be back for regular

Closest thing to Din Tai Fung that I’ve ever had! The cucumber salad was so fresh, the spicy noodles were incredibly flavorful, and the soup dumplings were top notch. Reviewing so I remember to come back next time I’m in SF!

Came here with my family! Good: - Great portion sizes and quantity per item - I liked the XLB here and the pan fried bun a lot. - The place is super fast when you order the food, it comes quickly - Large place so lots of seating - The staff are nice and clean up the dishes quickly. Bad: - Pretty packed space - More casual place, not super fancy Overall good value and authentic Chinese food!

Sat Sept 28 2024. Ordered the Steamed Soup Pork Dumplings, Shanghai Style Pan-Fried Pork Buns, Signature Crab meat Claypot rice, and Chinese yam with Black Fungus. The Steamed Soup Pork Dumplings had good pork but the dumpling wrapper was quite thick and elastic which was different. I was not too sure about it but the inside was good. The Shanghai Style Pan-Fried Pork Buns were a decent introduction for someone who has not had this style pork bun before but it was very average of the pack for this bun. The Signature Crab meat Claypot rice did not have as much crab meat as anticipated however the flavors were very aromatic and pleasant. The claypot rice inside was nice and crispy too as we got to that part of the bowl. And finally, the Chinese yam with Black Fungus was a great idea for a plate of greens to add to your order. These yams were a good quality and the Black fungus was smooth and soft. I would definitely recommend this location for larger group sizes than just 2 in order to take advantage of the variety of dishes on offer and because the price to portion ratio feels slightly to be desired. I want to say this was an isolated experience but we were seated in the far corner
